Four Exercises, Ten Minutes: A Full-Body Workout for Busy People

A four-move, kettlebell-based AMRAP circuit delivers full-body strength and conditioning in ten minutes, designed for people with limited time to exercise.

Four Exercises, Ten Minutes: A Full-Body Workout for Busy People

A short, four-exercise circuit using a single kettlebell or dumbbell can deliver a full-body strength and conditioning session in just ten minutes, according to the workout design.

The routine is built around the AMRAP method, meaning the goal is to complete as many rounds as possible within a set time window. It is aimed at people who struggle to find time for exercise and combines strength, fitness, and mobility in one session.

Warm-Up First

Before starting the main circuit, the program calls for a brief warm-up of two moves: ten pike push-ups and ten reverse lunges. After a 30-second rest, the round is repeated once before moving on.

The Ten-Minute Circuit

A timer is set for ten minutes. The four exercises are performed back to back, cycling through as many rounds as possible.

  • Goblet squat (6 reps): Hold the weight at the chest, push the hips back, and lower into a deep squat until the thighs are at least parallel to the floor, then drive through the heels to stand.
  • Goblet push press (4 reps): Hold the weight at shoulder height, dip the knees slightly, then use leg drive to press the weight overhead before lowering it back under control.
  • Goblet thruster (2 reps): Descend into a deep squat, then drive upward explosively and use the momentum to press the weight overhead in one continuous movement before lowering it back to the chest.
  • Forward lunges (20 reps): Step forward and lower until both knees reach roughly 90 degrees, keeping the rear knee just above the floor, then push off the front foot to return to standing and alternate legs.

Strength in Minimal Time

The main circuit lasts ten minutes, with the warm-up adding a few minutes to the total. The functional movements and continuous repetitions are designed to keep the heart rate elevated while working the body’s major muscle groups throughout the session.
