Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG) has been awarded the Platinum distinction by EcoVadis, the international business sustainability rating organisation, placing the Greek healthcare provider among the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide for environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
The company said the award makes it the only healthcare group in Greece to have achieved the Platinum rating, giving this year's recognition particular weight both internationally and at home.
What the EcoVadis rating measures
EcoVadis rates companies' sustainability performance and ranks them against every business it assesses worldwide, regardless of sector. Platinum is the organisation's highest tier of recognition and is awarded only to firms that place in the top 1% globally.
The assessment examines companies' approach and performance across four pillars: the environment; labour and human rights; business ethics; and sustainable procurement, according to HHG.
A steady climb through EcoVadis medals
HHG described this year's distinction as the result of a steady evaluation record rather than a one-off success, pointing to a continuous strengthening of the group's sustainability and responsible business practices.
The group received consecutive Silver Medals in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, a Bronze Medal in 2023-2024, and a further Silver Medal in 2024-2025, before reaching the top Platinum tier this year.
Significance for Greek healthcare
HHG said the distinction carries particular weight at a national level as well. Being the only healthcare group in Greece with an EcoVadis Platinum rating is, in the company's words, an important recognition of the effort undertaken and highlights the group's role in promoting high standards of responsible and sustainable business conduct in the healthcare sector.
Sustainability as long-term strategy
HHG is a private healthcare group operating hospitals and clinics in Greece. The company said sustainable development is an integral part of its strategy, tied to a continuing effort to create long-term value for patients, employees, partners, society and the environment.
According to HHG, the award confirms that sustainable development is not a short-term priority but a lasting strategic choice, one that evolves alongside the group and remains embedded in how it operates, grows and creates value for society.
