Swiatek enters Flushing Meadows after winning the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto earlier this month and reaching the semi-finals in Cincinnati, securing her first title of the season.
According to statistics compiled by ua-football.com, Swiatek and American star Gauff accumulated 1,390 points each across the hard-court tournament series leading into New York. Gauff claimed the title in Cincinnati after falling in the semi-finals in Toronto.
