Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it destroyed three more American F-35 fighter jets at Al-Azraq air base in Jordan, according to state news agency IRNA as cited by RIA Novosti.
The IRGC said several ballistic missiles struck a repair hangar and aircraft parking area at the base on the morning of August 1, destroying three F-35s and damaging three more.
The strike was the second on Al-Azraq in days. On July 30, Iran attacked the same base and claimed to have destroyed three F-35s in that raid as well. Iran said the July 30 strike was a response to a US airstrike on Qeshm Island, and Tehran said it intended to continue countering American military presence in the region.
On July 30, Iran also struck hangars housing American drones and a fuel reservoir in Kuwait, according to the same reports.
