The Russian fighter raised the issue in a video published on his official Instagram page during a workout session. In the video, Makhachev expressed strong dissatisfaction with the equipment provided to him and questioned his training partner about the condition of the gloves.
During the session, Makhachev urged his teammate to contact UFC president Dana White to complain about the issue. He also asked whether the gear had been manufactured in China or if it was counterfeit.
The video was posted to Instagram, a social networking platform owned by Meta Platforms. Meta is officially recognised as an extremist organisation and banned within the Russian Federation.

The bout between Makhachev and Garry is scheduled for 16 August as part of the UFC 330 tournament in Philadelphia, United States. The contest is expected to begin at around 06:00 Moscow time.
