Korona Kielce to sign Ondrej Lingr for one million euros

Polish club Korona Kielce have agreed a deal to sign Czech midfielder Ondrej Lingr from Major League Soccer team Houston Dynamo for one million euros.

The 25-cap Czech Republic international is scheduled to fly to Europe on Wednesday to finalize the transfer after resolving his personal affairs in the United States.

According to reporter Tomasz Wlodarczyk of the Meczyki.pl website, who confirmed earlier reports from Piotr Kozminski, Korona have settled terms with both the player and his American club. The total transfer fee, including potential add-ons and performance bonuses, could reach one million euros.

Supporters of the Kielce club, known as the Golden-Bloods, have long called for attacking reinforcements. Former Feyenoord and Slavia Prague player Lingr, who operates primarily as an offensive midfielder or right winger, is expected to address those demands.

Although recent signing Morgan Fassbender has impressed by scoring twice in a fixture against Widzew Lodz, the club management decided further firepower was required for coach Jacek Zielinski's squad.

Career history across Europe and MLS

Lingr moved to Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo in March 2025. During his period with the Texas team, he made 50 appearances, scoring five goals and providing eight assists.

Before moving to the United States, Lingr had a notable spell in Czech and Dutch football. He joined Feyenoord Rotterdam on loan from Slavia Prague in 2023 before making a permanent four million euro transfer to the Dutch club. Feyenoord then sold him back to Slavia Prague two months later for 2.2 million euros.

Across 162 total appearances for Slavia Prague, Lingr recorded 41 goals and 12 assists. Earlier in his career at MFK Karvina, he scored 12 goals and made three assists in 80 matches. In his 28 appearances for Feyenoord, he contributed four goals and one assist.

At international level, Lingr featured three times for the Czech Republic national team during Euro 2024, providing one assist.

Record spending at Korona Kielce

If completed at the full one million euro figure, the transaction will rank among the most expensive incoming transfers in Korona Kielce history. It equals the fee paid to Arka Gdynia for midfielder Kamil Jakubczyk, while midfielder Patrik Hellebrand remains the club's record signing at 1.7 million euros.

The move represents part of an extensive summer recruitment campaign by Korona, who have already added Hellebrand, Jakubczyk, Ariel Mosor, Norbert Barczak, and Fassbender to their first-team squad.

Speaking in a pre-season interview with the Sport.pl portal, Korona Kielce president Leszek Czarny expressed confidence in the club's recruitment strategy. Czarny said the management believed in their negotiation skills and persuasion to convince players that Kielce offered an attractive project, adding that several prospective targets had expressed a desire to move to the club.

Korona Kielce play in Ekstraklasa, the top tier of professional football in Poland. Based in Kielce, the regional capital of the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship in south-central Poland, the club plays its home matches at the Suzuki Arena.
