Latam confirmed on Tuesday night that it will start operating its new Embraer E2 aircraft in November, adding eight domestic routes across Brazil. The carrier will also expand flight frequencies on six existing routes. In total, the initial stage will take the company to 67 domestic destinations, creating the largest Brazilian network in its history.
Deliveries of the Embraer E2 will begin in the fourth quarter of this year. The aircraft form part of an order for 24 planes, alongside 50 purchase options. Latam Brasil Chief Executive Officer Jerome Cadier said the purchase options will be analyzed as operations with the aircraft begin.
The airline stated that up to 14 aircraft will enter service gradually between November and March 2027. This expansion includes four new bases: Cabo Frio and Macae in Rio de Janeiro state, Ji-Parana in Rondonia state, and Rondonopolis in Mato Grosso state.
New domestic routes and flight schedules
The eight new routes announced by the company feature varying flight frequencies starting between December 2026 and March 2027:
- Guarulhos to Rondonopolis: seven weekly flights starting in December 2026.
- Guarulhos to Ji-Parana: four weekly flights starting in December 2026.
- Guarulhos to Cabo Frio: four weekly flights starting in December 2026.
- Guarulhos to Macae: three weekly flights starting in February 2027.
- Brasilia to Ribeirao Preto: seven weekly flights starting in February 2027.
- Curitiba to Londrina: 14 weekly flights starting in March 2027.
- Curitiba to Cuiaba: seven weekly flights starting in March 2027.
- Porto Alegre to Viracopos: 14 weekly flights starting in February 2027.
Cadier said another 18 destinations are being evaluated for a second phase of E2 operations. That phase is scheduled to be announced in April next year as Embraer delivers additional aircraft.
Network expansions and fleet efficiency
Latam will also increase existing service across six routes starting late next year:
- Guarulhos to Palmas: four more weekly flights starting in December 2026, reaching 21 weekly flights.
- Guarulhos to Uberlandia: two more weekly flights starting in December 2026, reaching 28 weekly flights.
- Guarulhos to Cascavel: seven more weekly flights starting in December 2026, reaching 21 weekly flights.
- Guarulhos to Uberaba: one more weekly flight starting in December 2026, reaching four weekly flights.
- Galeao to Curitiba: seven more weekly flights in December 2026, reaching 21 weekly flights.
- Porto Alegre to Curitiba: seven more weekly flights in February 2027, reaching 21 weekly flights.
Beyond opening new operations, the Embraer E2 will replace existing aircraft on select company frequencies to increase network efficiency. These replacements will affect flights from Guarulhos to Belo Horizonte/Confins, Brasilia, Caldas Novas, Cascavel, Curitiba, Juiz de Fora, Maceio, Manaus, Palmas, Pelotas, Porto Alegre, Recife, Ribeirao Preto, Rio/Galeao, Teresina, Uberaba, Uberlandia, and Vitoria, as well as flights from Fortaleza to Recife.
