A Moscow court has sentenced a woman to a one-year suspended sentence after she assaulted a ticket inspector inside a subway station, news agency RIA Novosti reported.
The sentence follows an investigation into a violent altercation that took place on August 27, 2025, in the vestibule of the Lyublino metro station in south-eastern Moscow.
Investigators and court officials established that the woman walked through the station turnstiles accompanied by two children. A ticket inspector stopped her after noticing that one of the minors was older than seven years of age.

Under public transport regulations in Moscow, children under the age of seven are eligible for free travel on the metro system, while older children require a paid ticket. The inspector informed the passenger of the rule and demanded that she return to purchase an additional fare.
A heated dispute broke out between the passenger and the inspector in the concourse. During the argument, the passenger struck the inspector in the face and tried to kick her several times, according to investigators.
Intervention and legal proceedings
A station security officer intervened to stop the attack and separate the two women. The entire incident was captured on station surveillance cameras, providing direct evidence for law enforcement officers.
Authorities subsequently opened a formal criminal case against the passenger on charges of using violence against a representative of authority performing official duties.
Ticket inspectors across the Moscow Metro network are classified as official representatives carrying out public duties. Under Russian criminal law, applying physical force against an official during the execution of their duties is a criminal offense.
During the trial, the defendant admitted guilt to the charge. She told the court that she had struck the inspector by accident during the argument and offered a formal apology for the assault.
The court accepted her admission of guilt and sentenced her to a one-year suspended term. Under a suspended sentence, the offender avoids serving time in prison provided they comply with court requirements during a designated probation period.
