Moscow police have detained six teenagers after they attempted to climb onto the roof of a high-rise building and fired weapons at security guards.
The incident occurred on Shmitovsky Proyezd, where employees of a private security company guarding the high-rise building spotted the group attempting to storm the roof and intervened to stop them.
While trying to flee the scene, the youths sprayed pepper spray at the guards and fired signal pistols in their direction, according to official statements.
Vladimir Vasenin, head of the press service for the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, reported details of the detention to news agency TASS. Authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers hooliganism committed with the use of an item as a weapon. The suspects are between 14 and 18 years old. Two of the teenagers have been placed under formal arrest, while the remaining four were ordered to serve home arrest.
