Moscow air temperature reached 30 degrees Celsius for the fourth time since the start of summer and the second time in August 2026. Data from the VDNKh weather station showed thermometers reached 30.3 degrees Celsius at 17:00 Moscow time on Thursday, news agency TASS reported, citing a specialist at the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia.

Earlier in the month, temperatures in the city rose to 30.7 degrees Celsius on the weekend of August 2. Temperature readings also hit 30.4 degrees on July 2 and 30 degrees on June 10. A Hydrometcentre employee noted that temperatures ranged between 29 and 29.9 degrees Celsius on five other days this summer.

Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center, previously warned that hail could hit the capital region on Friday, August 7. Temperatures on Friday are expected to range from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius.
