Online retailer AliExpress has reduced the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 console below 400 euros as part of a limited time promotion.
The hybrid gaming device typically retails close to 500 euros in official brand stores, where initial production runs frequently sell out within minutes of launch.
According to technology writer Manuel Sifontes, the price reduction is being offered through the platform's Local Shipping Day event, which runs from September 1 through September 7.
During the promotional period, the console is initially listed at 428.17 euros. Buyers can lower the final price to 398.17 euros by applying the promotional code ESFS30 at checkout. Customers paying via PayPal can receive an additional automatic discount of 15 euros on orders exceeding 150 euros.
Pricing and discount details
The revised console design features a 7.9-inch LCD front display operating at 1080p resolution, replacing earlier design layouts to deliver vibrant colors and smoother animations during handheld play.
Internal hardware upgrades include a more powerful processor and graphics processing unit engineered to eliminate frame rate drops and shorten loading times. When connected to a television via its included docking station, the hardware supports video output up to 4K resolution at 120 frames per second.
Physical interaction with the system has been updated using Joy-Con 2 controllers. The new controllers attach magnetically to the console chassis without mechanical rails and can slide across a tabletop or lap like a computer mouse for improved aiming precision.
Hardware specifications and new features
For multiplayer communication, the system introduces a native GameChat interface activated by pressing the C button. The menu allows users to create voice rooms for up to 12 players, share screens among four users simultaneously, and connect an external camera using dual USB-C ports.
The main body of the console incorporates a firm multi-position rear kickstand alongside a high-definition 3D spatial audio system for tabletop play. Internal storage has been expanded to 256 GB, with support for high-speed microSD Express expansion cards to store digital game downloads and media captures.
Shipping, compatibility, and buyer protection
Orders placed during the promotional event are dispatched directly from local distribution centers. Sifontes reported that local dispatch ensures doorstep delivery within a few business days while avoiding unexpected customs charges, backed by standard buyer protection policies on the AliExpress platform.
The system maintains backward compatibility with the existing library of physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, while also supporting original Pro controllers. A GameShare function enables users to lend digital games remotely between consoles.
