The interbank exchange rate for August 4 averaged 3.3897 soles, with a high of 3.3930 and a low of 3.3870, the bank reported. The exchange rate is set in the interbank market, where local banks participate in trading from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

According to Peru's tax agency, SUNAT, the buying rate stood at 3.391 soles and the selling rate at 3.402. In the informal market, known as the dólar paralelo, the buying rate was 3.370 and the selling rate was 3.400.
The so-called dólar Ocoña, another informal market reference, showed a buying rate of 3.395 and a selling rate of 3.398, according to BBVA.
