Russian biohacking blogger Andrey Arbenin has died at the age of 31, representatives of his online store have announced.
Representatives from his store, Arbenin Shop, released a statement on Telegram explaining that authorities are investigating whether the death was criminal in nature. They confirmed that a criminal case has been opened, with law enforcement examining a potential charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Representatives said they are currently organizing Arbenin's return to his homeland while simultaneously working to establish all the circumstances surrounding his death. They added that they are waiting for the results of a toxicology examination and further official details on what took place.
YouTube channel and biohacking focus
Arbenin ran a popular YouTube channel titled Biohacking and Nootropics | Andrey Arbenin, which had accumulated more than 80,000 subscribers. In his videos, the creator shared details about his personal experiments with biologically active dietary supplements.
Biohacking is a modern health subculture where individuals experiment with diet, lifestyle changes, and chemical compounds to optimize body performance and longevity. Nootropics, commonly referred to as smart drugs, are natural or synthetic substances used by proponents in an effort to enhance cognitive functions such as focus, memory, and mental energy.
In addition to producing video content, Arbenin was the owner of Arbenin Shop, an online retail business selling dietary supplements. Biologically active supplements encompass a broad range of products, including vitamins, minerals, and herbal extracts designed to supplement daily nutrition.
Criminal investigation and Telegram statement
The announcement regarding Arbenin's death was published directly on Telegram, a messaging platform widely used across Russia by content creators, public figures, and commercial enterprises to publish news updates to subscribers.
When unexpected deaths occur under suspicious circumstances, law enforcement agencies routinely open criminal proceedings to investigate potential negligence or foul play. Toxicology tests analyze biological samples to detect foreign substances or chemical toxicity, a procedure that often requires extended laboratory analysis before final results are issued.
Representatives from Arbenin Shop stated that they will share further updates once toxicology results and official findings regarding the circumstances of his death are made available by authorities.
