A Russian woman has been sentenced to eight and a half years in a general regime penal colony for her involvement in an organized crime ring that filmed and distributed child pornography, authorities in Perm Krai announced.

The regional investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia told news outlet Lenta.ru that the court found the defendant guilty of multiple offenses under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Her convictions include the production and trafficking of pornographic materials involving minors, using minors for pornography production, sexual acts with minors under specified ages, indecent acts, and illegal money laundering committed by an organized group.
According to findings established by the court, the criminal operation consisted of the woman and three male accomplices. The group organizer was responsible for seeking out and recruiting underage victims to participate in pornographic video shoots. The remaining members, including the convicted woman, rented residential apartments and bought necessary production equipment.
Investigators determined that between May 2024 and July 2025, the syndicate drew ten girls and one boy, all aged between 12 and 16, into taking part in the illegal recordings.
Darknet distribution and financial laundering
Once recorded, the group uploaded the illicit media to international online platforms operating within the darknet segment of the internet. The defendants received payment for the sales in cryptocurrency, which they subsequently converted into Russian rubles to conceal the proceeds.
Law enforcement officers seized evidence during searches, including video equipment, computer hardware, mobile communication devices, and filming props. The prosecution supported its charges with forensic medical evaluations, computer examinations, and comprehensive psychological and art expert assessments.
Plea agreement and criminal proceedings
During the preliminary investigation, the woman entered into a formal pre-trial cooperation agreement with law enforcement officials. Following the agreement, her criminal case was severed into a separate proceeding prior to her trial and conviction.
