Retirement eligibility rules

The Social Fund of Russia also reminded citizens of the specific age requirements for qualifying for an old-age pension in 2026. Under statutory guidelines, men born in 1962 who reach the age of 64 are eligible to begin receiving retirement payouts.

Women born in 1967 who reach the age of 59 also meet the criteria to exercise their right to an old-age pension during the 2026 calendar year.

Regional geography and state administration

The territories reporting the highest average benefits are located in Russia's far northern and Far Eastern expanses. Chukotka Autonomous Okrug lies in the extreme northeast of the country bordering the Bering Strait, while Kamchatka Krai and Magadan Oblast stretch along the Pacific coastline of the Sea of Okhotsk.

The Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets, and Khanty-Mansi autonomous okrugs span northern European Russia and northwestern Siberia. These regions are central to the nation's oil and natural gas extraction industries and feature challenging Arctic and subarctic living environments.

The Social Fund of Russia is the primary state institution tasked with managing social insurance, pension calculations, and public benefit disbursements for citizens across the Russian Federation. TASS is a major Russian state news agency based in Moscow that distributes official government announcements and economic reporting.
