Spain's Institute for Seniors and Social Services, known as Imserso, will open bookings for its 2026-27 travel campaign on September 14, 2026.
The state-subsidized holiday scheme is offering 879,213 places across Spain and Europe for accredited pensioners and eligible seniors during the upcoming season.

Sales will begin on a staggered basis depending on the destination region and the priority status of the applicant, according to details released by the agency.
Staggered booking schedule by region
On September 14, bookings will first open for preferential users traveling to Andalucía, Aragón, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Melilla, Navarra, and La Rioja.
Non-preferential users seeking trips to those same nine regions will be able to submit their reservations on the following day, September 15.
A second wave of bookings will start on September 16 for preferential users targeting trips to Asturias, Cataluña, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunitat Valenciana, Ceuta, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Murcia, and the Basque Country.
Non-preferential users planning to visit that second group of destinations will be permitted to book their trips on September 17.
Reduced fares for low income pensioners
The program maintains a key social measure from the previous season, allowing pensioners with the lowest financial resources to travel for 50 euros.
The Ministry of Social Rights has allocated 7,447 places for this low-income category. Individuals who qualify for these places will pay only 50 euros regardless of the destination selected or the standard retail price of the trip.
In addition, the 2026-27 campaign will once again include dedicated places for participants who wish to travel accompanied by their pets.
Distribution of holiday packages
The total allocation of 879,213 places for the 2026-27 season is divided across three main travel categories.
Mainland coastal tourism represents the largest share, accounting for 50.1 per cent of all trips, or 440,284 places.
Island coastal tourism, covering destinations in the Balearic and Canary Islands, makes up 25.9 per cent of the total, with 228,142 places.
Getaway tourism accounts for the remaining 23.9 per cent, comprising 210,787 places. This category includes cultural circuits, nature tourism, provincial capitals, the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, and European departure points.
Eligibility and regional allocations
According to information provided by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and 2030 Agenda, Imserso offers an overall pool of 880,000 places across its distribution network.
The agency calculates the distribution of places across Spain's provinces by using the official census of residents aged 65 and over as a benchmark.
To take part in the scheme, interested seniors were required to complete an official accreditation procedure in advance. The application window to submit documentation on the agency's electronic portal was open from June 22 to July 10, 2026.
