Tribute to Parton's legacy and music

Swift expressed her gratitude alongside Parton's millions of fans for the melodies and lyrics that softened even the coldest hearts. She also highlighted Parton's philanthropic work, noting the millions of books given to children around the world so they could fall in love with stories as she did.

Reflecting on Parton's impact on her own childhood, Swift said the country legend made it possible for young girls to grow up dreaming of being part of the music world. She added that she would think of Parton at every step of the way.

Donations to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

The tribute follows a major donation made by Swift and her husband, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, on the eve of their wedding in July. The couple announced 26 million dollars in donations to various organizations, including two million dollars given directly to Parton's Imagination Library.

Parton responded to the gift in a video posted on her social media accounts, thanking Swift and Kelce for making charitable giving a central part of their lives.

In the video, Parton thanked the couple for their support before lightheartedly asking if she could keep their first child when they have one.
