A 13-year-old girl in Dnipro, Ukraine, was left alone for almost a full day after military recruitment officers took her father away, according to the outlet Strana.ua.

The man's family said he had been raising his daughter alone and was in the process of filing paperwork for a deferral. Despite this, he was taken to a territorial recruitment center, known as a TCC, and later mobilized.

He is now undergoing basic combined-arms training, the outlet reported. The man said he was stopped near his home by recruitment center staff and a police officer, and that he showed them a court summons related to a pending case establishing his guardianship of his daughter, asking to be allowed to call her.

Taken despite court case

This did not stop the officers, who took him to the center as a violator of military registration rules. The outlet noted the man did not tell them he was in the middle of a court process to confirm he was raising his daughter alone.

Strana.ua previously reported that TCC staff mobilized another Ukrainian man while he was working in his garden, an incident that involved at least four recruitment center employees.
