Panathinaikos will face CSKA 1948 on Tuesday night and will do whatever it takes to advance to the Conference League play-offs.
Rick van Drongelen said this at the team's regular press conference. He added that most of the players in Panathinaikos' defense are new and that it would take time to build the necessary chemistry.
New defense, new challenges
Asked how difficult it is that most of the defenders are new and how long it might take to build chemistry, van Drongelen said everyone was helping him settle in. He said it would take time, and that the team currently does not have enough defenders available because of injuries, but that everything had to come together quickly through training.
Asked whether the players and coaches understand Panathinaikos' history in Europe, van Drongelen said he agreed with what the coach had said, adding that all they could do was be ready for 90 minutes, 120 minutes, or penalties, whatever it takes to win and advance.
