Organizers of the World Badminton Championships in New Delhi, India, have hired a group of men who can imitate the cries of langur monkeys, according to Reuters.
The specialists were brought in to scare off rhesus macaques, which fear langurs in the wild. Macaques often wander into sports venues and can attack spectators and athletes.
Federation says it is satisfied
The Badminton Association of India declined to comment on the hired men. The association said the international federation was "100 percent satisfied" with the measures taken to improve conditions for the tournament.
The World Badminton Championships will run from August 17 to August 23. Two Russian players, Rodion Alimov and Maxim Ogloblin, will compete in the men's doubles event.
