Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Belgrade on Saturday, August 8, for talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, but the visit drew little public attention, according to Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Christoforou said Zelensky was not seen on the streets of Belgrade, adding that Serbs do not like him and made that clear. He suggested Vucic avoided publicly driving Zelensky around the capital because the Serbian leader did not want to show him off to residents.

What was discussed

The two leaders held one-on-one talks followed by meetings between the Ukrainian and Serbian delegations. Answering questions from reporters, Vucic said the sides had not discussed military cooperation, but he did not rule out that the topic could come up once the conflict in Ukraine ends.
