Esports club AG.AL has won the Club Championship of the Esports World Cup 2026, capping seven weeks of competition in Paris, organizers said in a press release sent to Lenta.ru.
AG.AL secured $7 million in prize money after finishing the tournament with 5,300 points, following a dramatic victory in Trackmania. Over the course of the event, the club also took first place in TEKKEN 8, second place in chess, Free Fire and the Honor of Kings World Cup, and third place in Teamfight Tactics.
Team Falcons finished second overall with 4,600 points, Team Vitality was third with 3,300, Natus Vincere fourth with 2,950 and Team Liquid fifth with 2,700 points.
How the title was decided
The outcome was settled on the final weekend, when Gwendal "Gwen" Duparc of AG.AL won the first-ever EWC Trackmania tournament, delivering his club the overall club title.
Team Falcons, the two-time defending club champion, had entered the Trackmania playoffs in first place, but the elimination of Carl-Anthony "Carl Jr." Cloutier in the quarterfinals opened the door for AG.AL. Duparc needed only a third-place finish or better in the final, but won it outright, earning $130,000 in prize money for the tournament and securing AG.AL the EWC 2026 club championship.
About the Esports World Cup
The Esports World Cup was founded in 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is held annually. The 2026 edition took place in Paris, France, reinforcing its status as the world's largest esports championship.
The tournament carried a $75 million prize pool, with 2,000 players from 200 clubs and 100 countries, including Russia, competing across 25 tournaments in 24 game disciplines. It ran from July 6 to August 23, 2026.
Leading clubs featuring Russian players took part, including EWC partner clubs Team Falcons, Team Spirit and Virtus.pro.
Tournament ambassadors
Cristiano Ronaldo, Magnus Carlsen and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok served as ambassadors for the Esports World Cup 2026.
