Comic Con Dominican Republic 2026 set for October return

Comic Con Dominican Republic 2026 will hold its third edition from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, October 25 at Puerto San Souci in Santo Domingo.

The convention returns with a schedule combining international guests, Dominican artists, Latin American dubbing talent, cosplay competitions, K-pop performances, video games, and competitive eSports. General producer Óscar Romero said the organization focuses on learning from previous editions by actively listening to fan preferences and feedback.

Attendance figures published after the 2025 gathering showed that more than 8,000 people attended the venue in Santo Domingo Este. For the 2026 event, organizers plan to expand show hours, feature more national artists, and introduce new international figures.

Romero said the event has grown steadily year by year since its first edition through a calm process of learning what local audiences enjoy. The team uses surveys, activities, and direct conversations to assess past performance, keeping successful features while adjusting areas that require improvement.

Romero described guest selection as a co-creation effort with followers, where suggestions from fans help turn seemingly impossible guest requests into real possibilities.

International guests and voice actors

British actress Natalia Tena leads the initial list of international headliners announced for the convention. Tena played Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter film series and portrayed the wildling Osha in Game of Thrones, while also serving as lead vocalist for the ska-pop band Molotov Jukebox.

Having previously worked alongside Tena at Comic Con Honduras, Romero described her as an energetic and dynamic performer who interacts closely with fans, posing for photos and sharing laughs with visitors. Romero added that Tena speaks Spanish due to her Spanish ancestry, which will allow direct communication with Dominican attendees.

Latin American voice acting will feature prominent performers including Mike Leal, who has voiced Ash Ketchum in Pokémon since season 13 and Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan. He will appear alongside Luis Carreño, the Spanish Latin voice of SpongeBob SquarePants since 2000, and Dafnis Fernández, whose credits include Roronoa Zoro in One Piece, Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, and Gabriel Agreste in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Romero noted that the Dominican Republic is among the countries that most enthusiastically receive voice actors, leading organizers to expand dubbing guest invitations compared to last year. International cosplay creators Banana Cospboys, a Mexican duo formed by Luis Gamboa and Eduardo Peralta known for mechanical props and elaborate costumes, will also participate. Local Dominican talent will be represented by Kosena Master, an illustrator and 2D video game artist.

Fan activities, eSports and regional transport

The 2026 festival schedule includes a dedicated K-pop block featuring dance choreography and singing, a MegaUnboxing showcase, a comedy performance titled Cafe Internet by Minor Perez, and a horror section presented by Proyecto Paranormal Latam.

An Artist Alley will host more than 50 Dominican artists alongside local video game developers, comic book studios, and interactive fan organizations. Venue infrastructure will feature two primary performance stages and an additional stage designed specifically for fan community meetups.

Competitive gaming will form a key component of the event schedule. Organizers are working directly with the National eSports Team to present live demonstration shows, highlighting electronic sports as a central pillar of modern geek culture.

To assist visitors traveling from outside the capital, organizers are establishing regional transport routes. Dedicated travel options will operate from Santiago, La Vega, Bonao, Villa Altagracia, Barahona, and La Romana, with additional internal routes planned within Santo Domingo depending on passenger demand.

Cosplay competitions and amenities

Romero described cosplay as the central element uniting the entire convention, with hundreds of costumed attendees creating a live three-dimensional environment. Participating cosplayers will receive preferential venue entry, private dressing rooms, access to a Cosplay Spotlight area, a kamekos section with specialized photographers, and the Cosplay Glam Stage.

The convention will host the Mega Cosplay Master Cup Centroamerica, featuring 32 tournament spots. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Megacon Costa Rica 2027 to serve as a Top 8 judge alongside international guests. Official tournament registration is scheduled to open on August 29.

Unannounced surprises and event goals

Organizers confirmed that additional international guests and programming details remain unannounced. Romero hinted that several more international figures are yet to be revealed in updates planned during the weeks leading up to October.

Romero urged fans and families to mark October 24 and 25 on their calendars, expressing hope that attendees will leave with lasting memories and positive shared experiences that carry through to future editions.
