Brazilian environmental management firm Ambipar postponed the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results on Friday, citing ongoing judicial recovery proceedings.
The company did not announce a new publication date for the quarterly report, which had been scheduled for release on August 14.
In an official statement explaining the delay, Ambipar said the court-supervised debt restructuring process directly affected the compilation and finalization of its accounting and financial information. The firm added that it was making every effort to publish its delayed third-quarter 2025 results alongside its financial statements for the first and second quarters of 2026.
Ambipar is a major Brazilian environmental management corporation that provides industrial waste solutions and emergency response services. Judicial recovery, known as recuperação judicial under Brazilian law, is a court-supervised debt restructuring mechanism designed to help financially distressed companies re-establish stability while protecting ongoing business operations from creditor liquidation.
Legal dispute and bankruptcy petition
The accounting delay follows legal friction in late July, when Ambipar petitioned a state court in Rio de Janeiro to challenge a bankruptcy request filed against it by fleet management provider Addiante.
Addiante initiated the bankruptcy proceeding after alleging that Ambipar defaulted on 16 invoices from a commercial contract, with payment due dates spanning from November 2025 to June 2026. The fleet supplier cited total unpaid debts of 187.7 million reais.
Ambipar filed a legal action questioning the debt three days after Addiante submitted its bankruptcy request. The company asserted that the claim involved an illiquid post-petition debt.
In comments sent to Broadcast, the real-time financial news service operated by media organization Grupo Estado, Ambipar said the debt was illiquid and maintained that Addiante had no legal basis to classify the liability as an obligation originated after the judicial recovery filing.
Addiante provides vehicle leasing and fleet services across Brazil, while Broadcast is the main real-time financial market news provider for domestic economic news under Grupo Estado. Ambipar continues to work toward resolving its delayed financial filings as its court proceedings move forward.
