AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) reported a net profit of $2.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 163 percent from the same period of 2025, according to financial results released on Tuesday. Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.66, topping the $1.62 projection compiled by FactSet.
Total revenue rose 34 percent year-over-year to $11.54 billion, exceeding analyst expectations of $11.28 billion. The company's Data Center division served as the main growth driver, generating $6.7 billion in revenue for a 107 percent annual increase. AMD attributed the gain to higher sales of central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs).
Third-quarter projections and market reaction
For the third quarter of 2026, AMD expects revenue of approximately $13 billion, plus or minus $300 million, alongside an adjusted gross margin of 56 percent. Despite exceeding quarterly estimates, AMD shares dropped 7.5 percent during after-hours trading in New York at 5:40 p.m. Brasilia time.
