Banco Inter Loop Points Can Be Redeemed for Products

Banco Inter's Loop program converts credit card spending into points that customers can redeem for products at Inter Shop.

Banco Inter Loop Points Can Be Redeemed for Products

Banco Inter, the Brazilian digital bank, allows customers enrolled in its Inter Loop rewards program to convert points earned on credit card spending into products sold through Inter Shop, the bank's in-app marketplace. The program turns everyday card purchases into a range of benefits, including cashback, investments, dollars held in a Global Account, airline miles and products from more than 600 partner stores.

Enrollment in Inter Loop is free and is done through Inter's Super App. Once signed up, customers begin earning points on eligible credit card purchases. Points are credited within three business days of the customer paying the full card bill by its due date.

How the points system works

The number of points a customer earns depends on their card category and the program's current rules. Holders of Gold, Platinum and Prime cards, as well as MEI business accounts, must keep automatic bill payment active to accumulate points. Customers in the Win category follow separate rules. The program is open to individuals, MEI micro-entrepreneurs, companies, and Kids and You accounts.

Signing up requires accepting the program's terms and conditions through the Super App.

What the points are worth

Inter Shop applies a simple conversion rate for redeeming points. According to the program:

  • 1,000 points are worth approximately R$20
  • 50,000 points are worth approximately R$1,000
  • 200,000 points are worth approximately R$4,000
  • 1,000,000 points are worth approximately R$20,000

In some redemption categories there is no minimum number of points required, meaning customers can start using their balance from their very first redemptions.

How to redeem points for products

Redeeming Loop points for products takes only a few minutes through the Super App. The steps are:

  • Open the Inter Super App
  • Go to the Shopping section
  • Choose the desired product
  • Check whether the points balance is enough for the redemption
  • Select Inter Loop as the payment method
  • Confirm the transaction

Once confirmed, the order is processed and delivered by the partner store as usual. Depending on the product, some offers allow customers to combine points with an additional cash payment to complete the purchase.

What can be bought with Loop points

Inter Shop brings together more than 600 partner stores selling thousands of products across categories including smartphones, home appliances, computer equipment, small electric appliances, beauty and personal care items, groceries, sporting goods, home goods, pet products, and fashion and accessories.

The number of points needed depends on the price of the item. Inter gives the following illustrative examples, noting that figures are subject to availability and the program's current rules:

  • A smartphone priced at R$4,993 costs 249,650 points
  • A perfume priced at R$399.90 costs 16,995 points
  • A fan priced at R$150 costs 7,500 points
  • Pet food priced at R$75.90 costs 3,795 points

When it makes sense to redeem points

Customers who use their credit card frequently can turn everyday spending into concrete benefits, lowering the cost of future purchases without extra outlay. Before redeeming points for a product, Inter recommends customers compare how many points a redemption requires, check for any promotional campaigns, weigh other ways of using their points, and check the item's regular cash price.

Because Inter houses the rewards program, the credit card and the Shopping marketplace within a single app, customers can check their points balance, track how points accumulate, and complete redemptions in one place.
