Greek actress Doretta Papadimitriou has brought her summer vacations to a close with an impressive dive at the island destination of Koufonisia.
The television star selected the Small Cyclades island as the final stop of her summer getaway this year, traveling alongside her partner, actor Giorgos Gerontidakis.
Papadimitriou marked the end of her summer break by diving into Pisina, a notable natural sea pool located on the island. The landmark features a carved rock formation that creates a sheltered basin filled with sea water, giving it the appearance of a private swimming pool.
Summer finale in Koufonisia
Writing in the caption of a video documenting the jump, Papadimitriou stated that the final dive of the summer took place at Pisina and described the experience as a wonderful conclusion to her summer break.
Alongside the video clip, the actress also shared a photograph taken at the same natural pool alongside Gerontidakis. She noted in her post that the couple had set a date to return to the island for the following summer season.
Natural sea pool at Pisina
The site known as Pisina, which translates to The Pool in Greek, is one of the most prominent natural attractions on Ano Koufonisi. Formed by natural rock erosion, the hollowed pool connects directly to the Aegean Sea through a narrow underwater passage, allowing seawater to flow continuously into the natural basin.
Koufonisia consists of two main islets, Ano Koufonisi and Kato Koufonisi, located in the Cyclades archipelago between Naxos and Amorgos. Renowned for their dramatic coastal rock formations, sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters, the islets have established themselves as a popular destination for summer visitors to the Greek islands.
