Greece's electronic national social security entity e-EFKA and public employment service DYPA will pay out €2,483,783,697.78 to 4,325,802 beneficiaries from August 24 to 28.
The scheduled distributions cover main and supplementary pension payments for September 2026, lump-sum retirement settlements, unemployment allowances, subsidized maternity leaves, and work placement programs across the country.

Pensions and lump-sum distributions
The social security organisation e-EFKA accounts for the vast majority of the scheduled funding. On August 26, the agency will pay €1,319,958,516.21 to 2,628,753 beneficiaries for main and supplementary pensions for the month of September 2026.
A second pension tranche will follow on August 28, when e-EFKA distributes €1,113,745,181.57 to 1,652,849 beneficiaries for main and supplementary September pensions.

In addition to monthly pensions, e-EFKA will disburse €17,500,000 to 800 beneficiaries throughout the week of August 24 to 28 following the issuance of decisions for lump-sum payouts.
Employment benefits and maternity support
Greece's public employment service, DYPA, will manage several targeted social support distributions during the same five-day period. The agency will transfer €17,000,000 to 28,000 beneficiaries for unemployment benefits and related allowances.

DYPA will also allocate €1,500,000 to 2,200 mothers receiving subsidized maternity leave. Another €14,000,000 will go to 13,000 beneficiaries participating in subsidized employment programs.
A further €80,000 is scheduled for payment to 200 beneficiaries enrolled in public benefit schemes across Greece.

Role of state social security agencies
The Electronic National Social Security Fund, known as e-EFKA, is Greece's primary public social insurance organisation. Formed to unify the nation's separate pension funds, it manages retirement benefits, health insurance coverage, and lump-sum payouts for Greek workers and retirees.
DYPA operates as the national public employment service of Greece. Formerly known as OAED, the agency manages job placement programs, vocational training initiatives, unemployment support, and family benefits designed to promote labor market integration and provide social safety nets.
The scheduled payments will be deposited directly into beneficiary bank accounts according to the set timeline starting Monday, August 24, and concluding on Friday, August 28.
