FC Krasnodar defeated FC Akhmat in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in a home Fonbet Russian Cup Group B match, Lenta.ru reported.
Krasnodar midfielder Daniil Utkin opened the scoring in the 66th minute of regular time. Maksim Samorodov scored an equalizer for FC Akhmat during second-half injury time. Krasnodar then prevailed 5-4 in the penalty shootout, though the source lead also cited a 2-1 shootout score.

Group B standings
Following the win, coach Murad Musayev's Krasnodar team earned three points to take second place in Group B. FC Akhmat remained without points in third position.
Spartak Moscow goal record
Earlier in the tournament, 16-year-old footballer Pavel Polekh became the youngest goalscorer in the history of Spartak Moscow. Polekh scored during a 5-1 cup victory against FC Orenburg for the team known as the Red-and-Whites.
Polekh scored at the age of 16 years, eight months and three days. He broke the record previously held by Jano Ananidze.
