Legia Warsaw rescued a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Slask Wroclaw at Lazienkowska on Friday after Rafał Adamski scored a 94th-minute header to keep the league leaders undefeated.
The Warsaw side entered the sixth round of the Ekstraklasa season at the top of the table with 11 points following three victories and two draws from their opening five matches, facing a Slask Wrocław team seeking to climb out of the lower half of the standings.
The match began with a symbolic farewell to veteran defender Artur Jędrzejczyk, who made his final appearance in a Legia shirt immediately after the opening kickoff. The 38-year-old defender, who played more than 400 matches for the club and won six Polish league titles, walked off the pitch to public applause through a guard of honour formed by players from both teams, handing the captain's armband to substitute Bartosz Kapustka before real competition commenced.

Once gameplay resumed, neither side created clear scoring opportunities in a quiet opening half-hour. Legia controlled possession for long stretches in the opposition half and attempted multiple long-range strikes, though none of their efforts tested the Slask goalkeeper, while the visitors looked for rare counter-attacking chances.
Slask Wrocław broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute after Piotr Samiec-Talar delivered a pass into the penalty area for Shabani, who was brought down by a sliding tackle from Legia defender Rafał Augustyniak. The referee immediately awarded a penalty, a decision upheld following a Video Assistant Referee review, and Samiec-Talar stepped up to convert the spot-kick as Legia goalkeeper Otto Hindrich dived the wrong way.
Legia appeared stunned by the opening goal and conceded two further chances to Slask forward Marjanac before the interval, though both attempts were stopped, while Legia's continued long-range efforts failed to yield an equaliser before half-time.
Second half pressure and Hindrich saves
The hosts struggled to rebuild momentum after the restart as Slask threatened to double their lead through a powerful distant strike from Grzegorz Tomasiewicz, which Hindrich parried to keep the margin at one goal.
Legia missed a chance to equalise when Kapustka set up Łukasz Zjawiński inside the penalty area, but the forward failed to make clean contact from close range. Slask then created two clear opportunities inside the final 15 minutes, with Samiec-Talar releasing Banaszak and then Marjanac through on goal, but Hindrich denied both attackers with consecutive saves using his feet.
Legia pushed forward in the closing stages as Zjawiński saw a shot cleared off the goal line by Szala before heading wide from another opportunity. The pressure finally paid off four minutes into stoppage time when substitute Rafał Adamski headed home a cross from Paweł Wszołek in the 94th minute to secure a point.

The result brings Legia's tally to 12 points, allowing the capital club to retain first place in the Ekstraklasa standings, while Slask Wrocław occupy 12th position with six points.
