Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan paid out another 299 million euros to beneficiaries over the last week, bringing total payments to 14,300 million euros.

The total amounts to 64 percent of the contracted funding and 65 percent of the approved value, according to the latest monitoring report on the Recuperar Portugal website, which includes data up to Wednesday.

Execution of the plan remains at 75 percent. The plan aims to implement reforms and investments to recover economic growth, repair the damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, support investments and generate employment.

Companies lead payouts

Companies have received the largest share of the funding at 5,123 million euros, followed by public entities with 2,864 million euros, and municipalities and metropolitan areas with 2,288 million euros.

Public companies have received 1,498 million euros, schools 648 million euros, higher education institutions 582 million euros, social and solidary economy institutions 493 million euros, scientific and technological system institutions 425 million euros, and families 378 million euros.

Project approvals

Project approvals stand at 24,575 million euros, down from the 24,824 million euros previously reported.

Companies also lead project approvals with 8,569 million euros, followed by public entities with 4,675 million euros, and municipalities and metropolitan areas with 4,637 million euros.

Public companies account for 2,584 million euros in approvals, and higher education institutions 1,000 million euros.

They are followed by schools with 992 million euros, social and solidary economy institutions with 887 million euros, and scientific and technological system institutions with 734 million euros. Families are at the bottom of the table with 497 million euros.

Up to Wednesday, the plan had received 537,948 applications, of which 507,320 were analyzed.

The number of approved applications stood at 402,781, an increase of 944.
