American businessman Elon Musk said SpaceX will use its Starship reusable transport system to deliver up to 10 million tons of cargo to orbit annually.
His comments were reported by TASS. According to Musk, SpaceX currently launches about 2.5 tons of cargo into space each year. He said the company expects Starship to initially deliver more than one million tons to orbit per year, before eventually reaching 10 million tons annually.
Starlink Satellites and Falcon 9 Record
In July, Space.com reported that SpaceX plans to launch about 100,000 third-generation Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, citing astronomer Jonathan McDowell. In the same month, the portal noted that the company launched the reusable first stage of its Falcon 9 heavy rocket for a record 36th time.
