Teletón 2026, Peru's annual charity telethon, raised S/9,815,389 for children's treatment and rehabilitation programmes, surpassing its stated goal of S/9,168,510 by S/646,879.
The event closed in the early hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026, after two days of televised fundraising. The final total came from donations contributed by the public throughout the broadcast.
The 2026 edition began on Friday, September 11, with the broadcast starting at 10:00 p.m. It aired on America Television and TV Peru, as well as on the organization's official digital channels.
Hosts and participants
The telethon featured a lineup of television and entertainment personalities, along with well-known content creators. Cristian Rivero, Mónica Zevallos, Virna Flores and Ismael La Rosa were among the hosts who guided the broadcast, presented updates on the fundraising total and reminded viewers of the different ways to donate.
Teletón is an annual solidarity campaign held in Peru to fund treatment and rehabilitation services for children in vulnerable situations, including those treated at San Juan de Dios clinics across several regions of the country. The campaign relies on public donations gathered during the live broadcast to sustain its programmes throughout the year.
Organizers thank the public
After the final figure was confirmed, the Teletón 2026 organization thanked everyone who took part in the campaign. In a message published once the broadcast ended, the organizers said: thank you, Peru, we did it. They said the campaign showed that when a country comes together, it can achieve enormous things, crediting every donation, every person who shared the campaign, every volunteer, every family, every company and every community that joined in for making the goal possible.
The organizers also stressed that the purpose of the campaign goes beyond reaching a specific figure, since the funds raised will allow continued care for children who need rehabilitation. They said the effort showed, once again, that Teletón is something everyone builds together, thanking supporters for believing in the cause, mobilizing and staying involved until the end.
