The Moscow mansion of former deputy defense minister Timur Ivanov has accumulated an electricity debt exceeding 500,000 rubles, according to Telegram channel Baza. Payments for the 1,000 square meter property stopped after Ivanov was arrested, but someone continues living in the home and consuming large amounts of electricity.
The four story building is located in Chisty Lane and was described in Mikhail Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita. The resource supplying organization has filed a lawsuit to recover the unpaid funds along with penalties and state fees, bringing the final total to about 750,000 rubles.
Company Ownership and Tax Status
The house is registered to the company Dvoryanskoye Gnezdo, which belongs to the driver of Ivanov's former wife rather than Ivanov himself. The company has been in crisis for five years, after it stopped paying taxes and had its bank accounts blocked.
