Stefanos Tsitsipas smashed his racket in frustration during his match against Alex De Minaur at the Washington tournament and was eliminated in the round of 32, losing 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
The outburst came at the end of the fourth game of the third set. With the match level at one set apiece, De Minaur had moved ahead 2-1 in games in the deciding set. Tsitsipas was serving, the score stood at 30-40 in the Australian's favor, and De Minaur took the crucial point to lead 3-1.
At that moment Tsitsipas hurled his racket hard onto the court. It broke on impact, with cameras capturing the incident clearly.

De Minaur, ranked sixth in the world, went on to claim the match and advance in the tournament. Tsitsipas was eliminated at the round-of-32 stage.
