Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, has released footage showing a violent brawl between an Uber Eats driver and staff at the company's New York City headquarters, saying police arrested the driver afterward.
Security and cellphone footage shows the delivery driver, wearing a motorcycle helmet and a large backpack, wrestling with a man near the elevators inside the Barstool offices.
According to Portnoy, the fight began after an argument between the Uber Eats driver and a female staff member, identified in one of his posts as Gia, reportedly over her food order.
"We had a crazy scene today at Barstool World HQ," Portnoy wrote on social media alongside the video. "Our security guard Dan went into the hall to tell the guy to leave and he attacked him. Beat him up pretty good."
Portnoy said the office was "totally secured and locked down" once the fight broke out. "The police did show up and arrest the guy," he added. "Danny may need a few stiches and a couple beers."
What the footage shows
In one clip, the driver ignores calls from onlookers to stop fighting and instead drags the security guard along the floor, appearing to punch him in the head. "Call 911!" someone shouts in the background.
After around 30 seconds, several Barstool staff members pull the driver off their coworker and push him against the wall. "He did it first!" the driver shouts as he is pinned to the floor.
Separate security footage shared by Portnoy appears to show the start of the confrontation, with a woman calling for help before a group of coworkers rushes in to protect the security guard.
Portnoy calls out staffer's reaction
Portnoy singled out one Barstool employee, content creator Tom Scibelli, known as "Tommy Smokes," for coming out to see the commotion before retreating out of shot. When Scibelli reappeared, he hung back from the fight. "Bravery like this can not go unnoticed," Portnoy wrote sarcastically.
Portnoy also referenced New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani in his post, writing "Shoutout Mandami's NYC."
Barstool Sports is a sports and pop culture media company that Portnoy founded and built into a prominent podcasting and betting brand. The Daily Mail said it had reached out to the New York City Police Department for comment.
