Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Federation Council constitutional committee, said the United States refused to provide Patriot missiles to Ukraine due to stockpile fears. Writing on his Telegram channel, the senator explained that military officials worry about holding enough interceptors for American defense.
Pushkov stated that although the US has retained about 800 Patriot missiles according to some reports, growing concerns in military circles suggest these interceptors may not guarantee its own defense capability. He added that Israel also needs Patriot systems alongside Ukraine.
Prior White House Meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously complained that Washington reduced missile deliveries for Patriot air defense systems to make Kyiv more compliant. Reports earlier indicated that US leader Donald Trump refused Zelenskyy requests for Patriot interceptor missiles during a meeting at the White House on July 28.
