Ride-hailing service Bolt has launched a ChatGPT integration allowing users to find routes and calculate trip costs directly inside the chat interface, the company announced on Thursday. Once users review the details in the chat, they transfer the order to the Bolt app for final confirmation.
To access the feature, customers must install a plugin. They can then type requests directly into the chat, asking the service to book a ride to Central Station or requesting a price estimate for the trip.
Upon receiving a request, ChatGPT displays an estimated fare, suggests a route, and indicates a pickup point before sending the details to the Bolt application. Final booking and payment currently remain restricted to the Bolt app.
Expansion and Payment Plans
Bolt stated that it is the first ride-hailing provider to launch simultaneous ChatGPT integration across multiple markets, including Ukraine. The company aims to introduce direct payment capabilities within ChatGPT by the end of the year, depending on the development of OpenAI App Integrations, also known as Connectors.
Bolt ranks as one of the leading ride-hailing services in Ukraine alongside Uklon. An estimate by the Kyiv School of Economics indicates that Bolt and Uklon together control 85% of Ukraine's 46 billion hryvnia market, placing them well ahead of Uber and competing services.
