China bought 3.6 million dollars of Russian beer in the first seven months of 2026, falling from eight million dollars recorded a year earlier.
In July 2026, Chinese purchases of Russian beer reached 912.3 thousand dollars. That figure marked an increase from 774.3 thousand dollars in June 2026, and also surpassed the 810.9 thousand dollars recorded in July 2025.
The trade figures were released by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and reported by the Interfax news agency. The Chinese customs administration monitors all official import and export statistics for the country, while Moscow-based Interfax is a major provider of economic and business news across Eurasia.
Major beer suppliers to China
Germany ranked as the largest beer supplier to China between January and July 2026, with exports to the Chinese market reaching 61.4 million dollars.
The Netherlands stood as the second largest supplier over the seven-month period, delivering 53.9 million dollars worth of beer to China. Spain ranked third among international exporters to the country, with sales valued at 46.6 million dollars.

European nations such as Germany and the Netherlands are home to some of the world's largest commercial breweries, exporting traditional lagers, ales and malt beverages to major consumer markets worldwide.
Russian beer imports from the European Union
During the first summer month of 2026, Russia imported 4.1 million euros worth of beer from the European Union. That monthly total was 2.7 times higher than the import results recorded in May 2026.
The surge in June imports was driven by increased shipments from Poland and Lithuania. Polish beer exports to Russia expanded 6.6 times compared to May, reaching 2.3 million euros, while Lithuanian deliveries grew sixfold to 677 thousand euros.
Belgium placed third among EU suppliers to Russia during the month, exporting beer worth 473 thousand euros. In contrast, imports of beer from the Czech Republic dropped by 25 percent to 448 thousand euros.
Germany generated only 109 thousand euros from beer exports to Russia in June 2026. Latvia supplied 59 thousand euros worth of beer, while Portugal recorded 39 thousand euros in beer sales to the Russian market.
The 27-member European Union operates a single commercial market, allowing beverage producers and exporters across member states to trade internationally under shared customs regulations and standards.
