US President Donald Trump said it is too early to discuss who will be his successor in the 2028 presidential election. However, he praised Vice President JD Vance, according to news agency RIA Novosti.
Responding to reports claiming he had already chosen Vance as his successor, Trump said he only recently heard about the stories. He stated that Vance is a great candidate, but added that it is far too early to even think about the decision.

The remarks follow comments from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who previously stated that he would yield to the vice president if Vance decides to run in 2028.
