Eduardo Saverin Tops Forbes Brazil Billionaires Ranking

Meta Platforms co-founder Eduardo Saverin leads Forbes Brasil's new list of 255 Brazilian billionaires published on Friday, August 28, retaining top spot with an estimated net worth of 162.9 billion reais.

Saverin remains the wealthiest Brazilian in history despite losing 28.24 percent of his fortune over the past year following a decline in Meta share prices, down from 227 billion reais in 2025.

The 44-year-old entrepreneur co-founded Facebook alongside Mark Zuckerberg. Born in São Paulo, Saverin lives in Singapore and renounced his United States citizenship shortly after Facebook's initial public offering in 2012. He owns investment firm B Capital, which focuses on startups, and holds a small stake in Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Vicky Safra and Financial Sector Leaders

Vicky Sarfati Safra ranks second on the list with a net worth of 130.6 billion reais, an increase of 8.38 percent from the previous year. The 74-year-old philanthropist inherited half of the fortune of her late husband Joseph Safra following his death in December 2020, while their children divided the remaining half.

Born in Greece, Safra moved to Brazil with her family as a child. Her late husband founded Banco Safra and was the richest banker in the world until his death. She currently leads the Vicky and Joseph Safra Philanthropic Foundation, which sponsors healthcare, education, and arts programs.

Investment banker André Esteves holds fourth place with a fortune of 66.1 billion reais, recording a gain of nearly 30 percent over the past 12 months.

The 58-year-old is senior partner and chairman of the board of directors at BTG Pactual, where he began his career as an intern before becoming chief executive and controlling shareholder. BTG Pactual reported a record net profit of 15.9 billion reais in 2025, which fueled a 33 percent increase in the bank's stock price over the past year.

Brewing Magnates and 3G Capital Partners

Jorge Paulo Lemann closed out the top three, matching his ranking from last year with a fortune of 103.5 billion reais, up 17.61 percent from 2025.

The 86-year-old financier is the controlling shareholder of global brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev, known as AB InBev. Lemann is also a co-founder and partner of private equity firm 3G Capital and holds investments in the parent companies of fast-food chains Burger King and Tim Hortons. In Brazil, his business portfolio includes real estate firm São Carlos Empreendimentos, alongside his children and the heirs of business partners Marcel Herrmann Telles and Carlos Alberto Sicupira.

Max Van Hoegaerden Herrmann Telles ranks seventh with a net worth of 38.8 billion reais. The 30-year-old is the heir of Marcel Herrmann Telles, a founding partner of 3G Capital.

Telles and his brother inherited shares in AB InBev in 2024, although his brother Christian is not listed as a billionaire. The brothers have been shareholders in São Carlos Empreendimentos e Participações since 2017.

Carlos Alberto "Beto" Sicupira and his family rank ninth with a net worth of 35.4 billion reais. The 78-year-old co-founded 3G Capital alongside Lemann and Telles. The majority of Sicupira's wealth comes from an approximate 3 percent stake in AB InBev, the world's largest brewer.

Itaú Unibanco Banking Heirs

Fernando Roberto Moreira Salles holds fifth place with a net worth of 50.3 billion reais, after seeing his fortune grow 25.12 percent over the last year.

The 80-year-old is the eldest son of diplomat and banker Walther Moreira Salles, founder of Unibanco. Salles is a major shareholder in Itaú Unibanco, which was created in 2008 when Unibanco merged with Banco Itaú to form the largest private bank in Latin America. He is also active in mining through CBMM, the world's leading producer of niobium.

His brother Pedro Moreira Salles ranks sixth with a net worth of 46.6 billion reais. The 66-year-old belongs to Brazil's largest banking family, serves as co-chairman of the board of directors at Itaú Unibanco, and works as an adjunct professor at Columbia University in the United States.
