Full qualifying positions at Zandvoort

Norris's McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished fourth in the qualifying session. Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc secured fifth and sixth positions respectively, while Red Bull driver Max Verstappen qualified in seventh place.

In Formula One motor racing, qualifying sessions establish the starting order for the Grand Prix race. The driver who sets the fastest single lap time earns pole position at the front of the grid.

Circuit Zandvoort is located among the coastal dunes in the Netherlands. The venue is famed for its historic layout and banked turns, serving as the traditional host venue for the Dutch Grand Prix.

Consecutive pole positions and seasonal form

The result marks the second consecutive pole position for Norris in the current season. Prior to the summer break, the British driver secured pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix and went on to win the race.

McLaren is a British racing team based in Woking, England, competing in the Formula One World Championship alongside top constructors including Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull Racing.

Reaching 18 career pole positions

With his 18th career pole position, Norris equalled the career totals of former Formula One drivers Mario Andretti, René Arnoux, and Kimi Räikkönen.

Andretti is an American motorsport icon who won the Formula One World Championship, while Räikkönen is a Finnish former world champion driver. Arnoux is a former French racing driver who won multiple Grand Prix races during his career.
