Wojciech Łobodziński Joins KS Raszyn to Resume Playing

Former Poland international Wojciech Łobodziński has resumed his playing career by joining A-Class club KS Raszyn as a player. The former national team player returns to competitive action five months after his previous managerial post ended.

Łobodziński is scheduled to make his debut for his new club on Saturday, August 22, when KS Raszyn face Ursus III Warszawa. The fixture is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m.

KS Raszyn announced the signing in an official statement, expressing pride in welcoming the four-time Polish champion. The club highlighted his career achievements, including his 23 appearances for Poland and his participation in Euro 2008, where he played in every match for the national team.

The club added that his extensive experience gained both on the pitch and in coaching would bring tremendous value to the youth players in Raszyn and the local football community. Club officials noted their belief that his football knowledge and professionalism will support young players in their development and help them reach their sporting goals.

Coaching background and dismissal

The move marks Łobodziński's return to active playing after spending several years as a manager. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Miedź Legnica before taking over as head coach of the main team. During the 2021/22 season, he guided Miedź Legnica to promotion to Ekstraklasa, the top tier of Polish professional football.

Following his first spell at Miedź Legnica, Łobodziński went on to manage Wieczysta Kraków and Arka Gdynia before returning for a second stint at Miedź Legnica. He subsequently took charge of Zagłębie Sosnowiec, but was dismissed on March 16, 2026, following a 7-1 defeat against Olimpia Grudziądz. He had remained out of work since that dismissal.

Playing history and national team caps

Prior to entering coaching, Łobodziński completed his professional playing career in 2020 at Miedź Legnica, where he had played since 2012. Earlier in his career, he represented several prominent Polish clubs, including ŁKS Łódź, Wisła Kraków, Zagłębie Lubin, and Zawisza Bydgoszcz.

Łobodziński also accumulated 23 caps for the Poland national team, often referred to as the White and Reds. He made his senior international debut on December 6, 2006, in a 5-2 victory over the United Arab Emirates, recording an assist for Radosław Matusiak's goal near the end of the match.
