Peru's National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has activated an online portal allowing citizens to look up their assigned polling location for the upcoming October 4 regional and municipal elections.
The digital platform also enables voters to check whether they have been selected to serve as polling table members during the 2026 vote.
In a public announcement on Facebook, ONPE reminded citizens that each voter's designated polling station will be located within the same district listed on their National Identity Document (DNI) at the time the electoral roll closed.
ONPE, known formally as the Oficina Nacional de Procesos Electorales, is Peru's constitutional electoral body responsible for organizing and conducting national, regional, and municipal elections across the country. The DNI is the mandatory national identity card issued to all Peruvian citizens and serves as the primary document required for civic transactions and voting.
Checking polling locations and table assignments
To access their voting information, electors must visit the official website at consultaelectoral.onpe.gob.pe/inicio and enter their DNI number. The system then automatically displays the specific voting center assigned to that individual.
The same portal allows citizens to verify if they were chosen to serve as a polling table member. By entering a DNI number, the platform reveals the names of both the principal members and the alternate members selected to staff each polling table.
Polling table duties and mandatory training
Citizens selected as polling table members are responsible for opening and organizing the voting table, verifying voter identity documents, and guiding voters through the ballot process. Once voting ends and the polls close, table members must oversee the scrutiny, count the votes, and fill out official election tally sheets in accordance with ONPE guidelines.
The electoral authority has organized prior training sessions to prepare designees for election day. These instructional sessions are designed to help table members familiarize themselves with electoral materials and clarify any procedural questions ahead of the vote.
Compensation and penalties for non-attendance
ONPE specified that performing table member duties is mandatory under Peruvian law. Citizens who complete the required training and fulfill their duties on election day will receive a payment of 165 Peruvian soles (S/165).
Meanwhile, Peru's National Jury of Elections (JNE) reminded voters that selected table members who fail to report for duty without an official justification will face a fine of 275 soles (S/275). This penalty represents 5 percent of the country's active Tax Impositive Unit (UIT).
The National Jury of Elections (Jurado Nacional de Elecciones) is the constitutional entity tasked with administering electoral justice, overseeing legal compliance during elections, and issuing election-related fines. The Tax Impositive Unit is a standardized monetary benchmark set annually by Peru's Ministry of Economy and Finance to determine tax obligations, administrative fines, and legal fees nationwide.
