Russian professionals earning between 500,000 and one million rubles a month are concentrated in four sectors, Professor Alexander Safonov told news agency TASS.

Commercial medicine, sales, senior corporate management and information technology represent the primary fields where workers command these top tier salaries, according to Safonov, who teaches at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Consulting specialists and luxury real estate agents can also attain comparable pay packages, Safonov said. He noted that actual earnings across all these fields depend on an individual's qualifications, specific job title and performance results.
Executive pay and performance bonuses
Safonov clarified that monthly earnings from half a million rubles in management and sales are driven by a combination of high base salaries, performance bonuses and commission on completed deals.
At large commercial enterprises, base salaries alone can surpass 1.5 million rubles, the expert said.
The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, located in Moscow, is one of the country's prominent academic institutions training economists and corporate advisers. In Russia's corporate sector, major commercial firms and industrial groups regularly structure senior packages with variable incentives to reward revenue generation and executive retention.
Private healthcare earnings in capital clinics
In healthcare, substantial pay packages are limited to top commercial hospitals and aesthetic medicine clinics in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Safonov explained. Physicians employed at these premier facilities can earn between 500,000 and 900,000 rubles.
Moscow and Saint Petersburg are Russia's two largest cities and primary financial centres, where private healthcare spending significantly outpaces regional markets. Aesthetic medicine clinics and elite private hospitals cater to affluent clients seeking elective procedures and specialized care outside the state medical system.
Networking for lucrative roles
Securing lucrative employment often involves personal recommendations rather than standard job applications, according to Elizaveta Gasheva, head of internal communications at software firm Cyberprotect.
Gasheva previously stated that individuals pursuing lucrative employment should feel confident reaching out to acquaintances, using social networks and actively participating in professional networking platforms.
Cyberprotect is a Russian technology company that develops data protection and cybersecurity software. Executive recruiters across the Russian job market frequently rely on professional referrals, personal networks and specialized recruitment channels to fill high earning management and technical positions.
