First CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra show a redesigned rear camera module similar to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Images published by technology site Android Headlines and created by leaker OnLeaks display the device from all angles. The design marks a departure from Samsung's established smartphone aesthetic, replacing individually housed vertical camera lenses with a prominent rectangular camera bump across the upper rear panel.
Computer-aided design renders are created from factory dimensions distributed ahead of production to help accessory makers prepare protective cases. The leak offers the first detailed visual look at Samsung's planned flagship release for 2027.
Preliminary specifications indicate Samsung will equip the Galaxy S27 Ultra with three rear cameras instead of four. Reports state the manufacturer will remove the 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, relying instead on a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
The main camera is slated to use a 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP6 sensor, manufactured by Samsung's semiconductor division. It will operate alongside a 50-megapixel Sony IMX855 sensor dedicated to ultra-wide shots.
Design and hardware specifications
The physical dimensions of the Galaxy S27 Ultra are approximately 163.76 by 78.25 by 7.97 millimeters. Including the raised camera island, the total thickness reaches about 12.53 millimeters.
Samsung will maintain a 6.9-inch display screen and a built-in slot for the S Pen, the stylus accessory standard on the company's Ultra series devices. Internal leaks suggest the smartphone will incorporate a battery with a capacity of approximately 5,700 mAh.
The battery is reported to utilize silicon-carbon technology. Silicon-carbon battery chemistry increases energy density compared to standard lithium-ion cells, allowing mobile manufacturers to fit larger power capacities into thin phone chassis.
Processing power for the device is expected to come from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chipset in most regions. Select regional markets may receive models equipped with Samsung's in-house Exynos 2700 processor.
Early pricing projections place the Galaxy S27 Ultra at $1,400, which would mark a $100 price increase compared to the previous Galaxy S Ultra model. Samsung has not officially confirmed any pricing or hardware details.

The official presentation of the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected in February 2027. In the nearer term, Samsung is preparing for its Galaxy Event August 2026 on August 27, where it will reveal a new device in the Galaxy S26 series.
