Spain's parliamentary group Sumar has called to prevent Morocco from hosting the 2030 World Cup following events in Ceuta, newspaper El Mundo reported.
Sumar notified the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the International Association Football Federation (FIFA), and the government of Portugal about the issue. The group stated that a special review and evaluation of the current joint hosting model for the 2030 World Cup, planned across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, is necessary.

Political figures in Portugal previously expressed similar concerns. The Portuguese ecological party Livre also called for Morocco to be excluded from the list of host nations for the 2030 tournament.
Migration Events in Ceuta
The initiatives follow developments in late July in Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous city located on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa. The city experienced a mass influx of illegal migrants from Morocco.
Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska reported that 72,000 illegal migrants entered the country. He added that 70,000 of those individuals have already returned to their homeland.
