Russian national football team head coach Valery Karpin has become a father for the sixth time after his wife Darya Karpina gave birth to a son. Karpina announced the news on Instagram, a platform owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation.
In a caption for a photograph featuring her husband and baby, Karpina welcomed their son to the family and wrote that they had been waiting for him very much. Karpin, who became a father for the sixth time, also raises five daughters. In March 2025, the 57-year-old specialist stated that he dreamed of having a son.
National team role and restructuring
Karpin has led the Russian national team since 2021. Russian Football Union head Aleksandr Dyukov previously evaluated his performance as head coach, noting that the national team squad was almost completely updated under Karpin. Dyukov added that the team itself had undergone a restructuring process.
