The MI Crow company, owned by Ukrainian businessman Oleg Krot, took over the legendary Ursus tractor factory. The entrepreneur assures that he wants to maintain production.
Recently, Polish media reported that a Ukrainian businessman had bought one of the most famous Polish companies: Ursus. The company produced tractors and other agricultural machinery. MI Crow paid PLN 74 million for the Polish company. Questions soon began to arise about what the future held for the legendary bets.
Ursus will continue to operate
In an interview with “Puls Biznesu”, Krot revealed that he planned to continue production and develop the plant. A new business development strategy is currently being developed. An inventory of equipment and machines is also underway.
– We plan to continue the production of agricultural machinery and expand the product range, focusing on the contemporary needs of the agricultural sector. Our company is already receiving orders from Poland, the Czech Republic and Ukraine, the businessman said.
– Rebuilding new machines means waiting many months for production and huge investments. Our investment plan includes a thorough modernization of production through the implementation of modern technologies and management rules. This allows us to attract qualified personnel and increase Ursus’ production capacity, says Krot.
The businessman points out that Usus must undergo modernization and restructuring in order to compete in the global market. The new owner plans to hire new specialists and increase the capacity of the factory. Recently the company employed 81 people. In its heyday, the factory employed 800 workers. The court announced Ursus’ bankruptcy in July 2021. The company was founded in Warsaw in 1893 on the initiative of engineers Ludwik Rossman, Kazimierz Matecki and Emil Schönfeld and entrepreneurs Stanisław Rostkowski, Aleksander Radzikowski, Karol Strassburger and Ludwik Fijałkowski.
