Ridge Barredo, a former cast member of the Australian version of reality show Married at First Sight, injured his knee while competing in a weightlifting event, according to 7News.
Barredo fell to his side after attempting to lift a 190-kilogram barbell and was left writhing in pain. Speaking to journalists after being examined by medical staff, he said he heard a pop in his knee and described the pain as eight or nine out of ten. He added that nothing like this had ever happened to him before and that it was slightly frightening.
Barredo later posted on Instagram that he had undergone an MRI scan. He said the scan showed only a dislocated kneecap and that he intends to return to weightlifting after he recovers.
